The Blog
Stranger in a Strange Land is a compilation of critical thoughts and half-baked musings. My experiences in Tanzania form the basis of these thoughts. The title derives its name from the science fiction novel by Robert A. Heinlein. Heinlein examines constructs of language, religion, and culture. These are topics I find myself challenged by on a daily basis.

The Author
I’m an American student studying Nonprofit Management at Indiana University. I also study Swahili and I’m a nerd about international development, beer, and all things literary. I dedicated three years of my life as a Division 1 coxswain for Indiana Women’s Rowing. I’m infatuated by the life around me. I’ve devoted my life to traveling, experiencing culture.

***RECORD SCRATCHING***

I have since graduated and currently inhabit that weird “what the hell am I doing and how does everyone else have it figured out already” limbo of post grad life. I spend a lot of my time writing cover letters hoping someone will employ me, volunteering with local nonprofits, and reading about social justice. I also take a lot of pictures of my pets. I am slowly working up the courage to apply to MSW/JD programs.
